Time to Vote - Bloggers' Quilt Festival

WOW! WOW!  612 entrants in the Blogger's Quilt Festival!   Today the nominations begin. This is going to take some doing ;-)   Now to sit down with a coffee and have a great time drooling over all the wonderful quilts.

I have opened the Voting Form and printed out a screen print so that I can fill it in over the next few days.

If you want to do the nominations in one sitting, I read a suggestion from Sharon of Vrooman Quilts to open two windows - one with the entrants and one with the voting form - it will make it much easier - thanks Sharon ;-).

Sailboats - first successful try at paper piecing

Here is the tease photo I posted for the 6" Block - to SueB

Sue has now received these blocks so I can post a full picture

I had fun with this block  ;-)  ;-((
Sue asked how I went with the paper piecing? ............. well, my hair is normally straight and after my third attempt, let's say it was curly by the end of the afternoon  ;-)

I got it in the end ;-)  and included my first test as well - it is not quite right, but Sue is free to use it or bin it ;-)

Bloggers' Quilt Festival

I would like to submit my very first Friendship Quilt for consideration for the Bloggers' Quilt Festival.  This quilt could fit two categories:

Throw Quilt
Group/Bee Quilt

VOTING IS NOW OPEN - see HERE

This quilt has been made up using some of the blocks I have received whilst being a member of Quilting Block Swap Australia and Block Swap Adventure during 2010 and 2011.

Basted on Dining Table

Quilted and ready to snuggle under when it gets a bit colder ;-)

I love the fact that all these different blocks have come from different parts of the world and look so great together. I am currently snuggling under this one as it is getting chilly at night time.

The Postie has been kind again ;-) **300th Post**

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine on this cold but sunny Adelaide day.

The postie has been kind this week - delivering lots of lovely squishies.

First up, the much anticipated block from Jessisca in USA - it always seem to take forever for mail to get to Australia.

Jessisca sent these two lovely blocks for April swap for QBSA and some extra fabrics too ;-)

Thank you so much for the extras Jessisca.

Now here is what I sent to Jessisca
I hope it has arrived by now and that you liked it - this was only my second attempt at making a picture block like this and I enjoyed the challenge ;-)
I found a link for these blocks as part of a quilt along at myQuiltGenie blog HERE - so thanks to Jeanne - your instructions made this block so much easier than paper piecing ;-)

Next up is a gorgeous block from Sherry for May BSA

Thank you Sherry, your fabric choices are great!
I have picked and washed fabrics for your block and will make it this week
with the aim of posting it on Monday.

Now we have some fat quarters from Jessica for the May Fat Quarter Swap
Thank you Jessica - I can't wait to make something up with the cupcake fabric ;-)

Now for some winnings ;-)
I won this gorgeous coffee themed fabric from A Legacy of Stitches
the fabric is such a rich beautiful colour
Thank you Sandi, I can't wait to make something with it ;-)

OOOh!!  just noticed, this is post number 300!!!  Woo Hoo!
