JRSQA - Block #9 - it's on my wall ;-)

Block # 9 has been posted for our JRSQA (see link on sidebar if you would like to participate)

Here is my block - I am really happy with the way this one turned out!  ;-)

Here is my wall at the moment.

Here is my thoughts on the sashing - not too sure I am happy with this combination.  It does not look the way I imagined it ;-(

What is on My Design Wall?

This my quilt so far for JRSQA - block # 9 has just been posted.

Here is my first solo quilt - a split/disappearing 9 patch in Moda, Old Primrose Inn.
I am making a lap quilt for myself.

Pop on over to http://www.patchworktimes.com/ to see what is on other people's walls ;-)

I love getting packages in the mail! ;-)

I was one of the lucky winners over on http://www.quiltdad.com/ birthday blog giveaway

I was able to pick a Mini Shopper Organiser from Teri Harlan of etsy shop  Terri's  blog is here

My prize arrived today - it is just beautiful!

The photos do not do it justice!  The material is soft but sturdy, beautifully made and even though measurements were quoted on the etsy site, it is bigger than I imagined ;-)

I am so looking forward to taking this with me next time I go to Spotlight.

Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along - Block #8

yay - finally completed Block 8

I must confess, when I first saw the block - I thought 'OMG that looks hard', but it was very easy and came together beautifully!

Blocks 1-4

Blocks 5-8

Now to make up my mind how I am going to do the sashing - I was originally going to do the plain light blue as the background, but am thinking that some yellow will provide some real pop!

I will have a think and a play with some scraps and see what 'speaks to me'  ;-)

Anyone have any suggestions?

Quilt Block Swap - June 2010

3rd June and I have already received and completed the block swap for June - what shall I do with the rest of the month?

Here is the block I have made for Teena - it will be in the post tomorrow.

Teena requested a block using the Ohio Star pattern in blues/greens.  The photo does not do the material justice - the patterned blocks are mostly blue with the teal highlight.  I tried various combinations for the centre block and decided something with a pop was required, but still had one of the blues in the outer blocks.  I had three attempts at getting the centre square right - I finally realised I had mis-cut my centre square ;-)

this is the disappearing 9 patch block I received from Teena - I love the purples, the photo does not do it justice.  I particularly like the small sections with the green leaves on them, there is a lovely gold detail to the material.
