Bloggers are wonderful people!

I got quite a few responses from my last post "I miss swapping"

Cynthia, Maria, & Anthea responded with a Fat Quarter Swap (FQ), and Jo responded with a block swap.

Here are the FQs I sent :)

For Anthea

for Cynthia

For Cynthia, I had to hunt high and low to find a FQ that
I had not actually purchased from Cynthia's Ark :)

for Maria
Here is the block I sent to Jo - I had to hunt for a nice basket to make for her red & white basket quilt.

for Jo
Jo has recently posted that my block has arrived and she has already placed it in her quilt :)  I was most surprised, and very honoured to find Jo had placed it front & centre!

Please visit Jo's blog to see the end result - it looks amazing!

Here are photos of what I received :)

blocks from Jo (photo pinched from Jo's blog as her photo is much better than mine :) )
I had to share just how pretty that ornament is :)  thank you Jo, I love it!

Thank you ladies for responding to my call for a swap :)  it was a lot of fun!

I miss swapping :(

At the end of last year I ceased being the Co-Ordinator for Fat Quarter Swap (Australia) - my choice, I just needed to step away from the Co-ordinator 'stuff' for a while.

I stopped swapping Fat Quarters

I also stopped swapping quilt blocks

I am not a fan of conducting swaps via Facebook,  I much prefer the blogging world  LOL

.............. I miss those swaps and the interaction of the blogs  :(

Would any of my Aussie quilting blogging friends like to do an impromptu Fat Quarter Swap or Quilt Block Swap for Christmas?

more things crossed off ................

I decided to stop being the Christmas Block Swap Co-Ordinator in October - I had been swapping since 2010, and became the Co-Ordinator in 2012.  Chasing up the swaps to make sure they were completed was very time consuming and I was not enjoying it anymore :(  The lovely Bobbie has since taken it over, and I am still swapping Christmas blocks :)

I also decided to end the Fat Quarter Swap group - I found I was not enjoying that anymore either.   I found myself quite frustrated when I had to chase up whether a swap was completed or not, and I was getting very disappointed when most of the swappers stopped sharing photos of what had been sent and received - that was the bit I enjoyed most .... seeing all the lovely Fat Quarter goodies :)  I was going to close it completely - the blog and the Facebook group, but I received an offer from Sara to keep it going :)  Hopefully, Sara will breathe some new life into it.

I found I still wanted to do something with my time :)  they say when one door closes, another one opens ............... well it did :)  An opportunity for a new host of the CHERISH circle of the do Good Stitches bee opened up .......... and I put myself forward, and was accepted :)

I have been a stitcher for the CHERISH circle for a few years, so I knew roughly how it worked.  I am currently in the process of getting to know the new members of our circle, and have taken the first spot for the year with a scrappy wonky star block - a nice easy one for everyone to start with.

I hadn't even got around to making up a sample block, when Margie shared a photo of what she had made (I have pinched Margie's photo here :) )  Very exciting seeing these!

Wonky white stars
These blocks are already in my hot little hands ....... I can't wait to see what the resultant quilts will look like - I will be making two lap quilts as I only have a domestic machine and will be limited in how I can quilt it.

Winter has started with a ..........

........ sick Mr Fixit, and a sick Mrs Fixit ............. yes, we share everything, even the things I would prefer not to share LOL

On Sunday, 1st June (1st day of winter) I woke up with a sore throat and have been suffering with the effects of the flu ever since.  Mr Fixit has been a week ahead of me with all the symptoms, and has been home from work for two weeks; we just can't seem to shake off this terrible cough - we have each gone through a box of tissues in the last week.

Any way, on the weekend, Mr Fixit needed to catch up on some work things, so I spent some time in the sewing room - it was great therapy :)

I finished up my christmas block for my June partner, Natasha, and so I don't spoil the surprise, here is a tease photo

I picked some Fat Quarters for my June partner, HelenW, once again, a tease photo follows

I also did some secret sewing :) here is a tease

Then, I got stuck into my Farmers Wife Quilt and made two more blocks - well I made three, but one was the wrong size!  My pile of 'rejects' is getting bigger LOL I will do something with them one day :)
