November catchup | Slow Postal Services

I really didn't want to finish the year being so far behind in my swap commitments - so I did some appropriate preparation to get motivated to sew  :)

and I managed to catch up on my Do Good Stitches Bee blocks :)

Mental note to self - check which side is the right side when working with tone on tone :)  I had to rip out 3 different sections because I sewed them the wrong way :(

I am still waiting on my block from USA - it was posted 7th November :(

Mr Fixit is still waiting on his package from UK - they are sending a replacement :)

Mr Fixit is now on leave - and will be for the next SEVEN WEEKS!!  I hope we don't drive each other crazy being home together for that amount of time LOL - not to worry, the Cricket will be on, so he will be happy, and I can craft or sew to my hearts content, so I will be happy :)

Why is the postal system taking so long lately?

I am still waiting for my block from Hope for the October Christmas Block Swap - it was posted from the USA on 7th November :(

I am also waiting on my QBSA November block from Brenda, another swapper in USA - that block has only recently been posted, so I hope it doesn't take too much time.

I just realised I had not posted a photo of the block I sent Brenda, so here it is

Is it just Australia & USA that seems to be taking such a long time?  Anyone else noticed their packages taking longer to get to their destinations?

Waiting on items from the other side of the world can be so very frustrating :(

Mr Fixit is waiting on a parcel from the UK - which could be here anywhere between 18th & 24th November according to eBay :)

Anyway, must be off .................. grocery shopping awaits :)

FNSI show and tell

I got to spend some much needed time in my sewing room yesterday - thanks to FNSI - Friday Night Sew In hosted by the lovely Wendy.

Of course, the afternoon always starts with some good preparation :)

I put the finishing touches on my Do Good Stitches blocks for September - yes, I know :(  I am very late with these blocks.





blocks now packed and ready to post on Monday.

I also finished up the last of my CraftMad Family Christmas Quilt blocks.
The October block is Oh Susannah




and the November block is 'sewer's choice'.  I love the way the June block came together, so here it is again, in a different colour combination.

I am not sure what is happening with Postal Services of late ................ it seems that everyone is experiencing delays :(

I posted my Christmas Block to Hope on 20th October, and it has just arrived 7th November - that's 15 working days from Australia to USA - NOT HAPPY JAN!

Hope has indicated that she likes it,

and that her October block to me has been posted yesterday - I hope

it doesn't take another three weeks to get to me :(

The lovely Narelle sent me some FQ Birthday Love and according to the post mark, it took 11 working days to get from QLD to SA

Fat Quarter Swap UK

Some of you may know I am the Swap Co-Ordinator for a Fat Quarter Swap group, that swaps within Australia.  I was recently contacted by Tori Eames Matthews in UK recently asking if I had any objections to them copying our Fat Quarter Swap group :)   sure thing, go for it!  was my reply.

Tori has now opened up a UK Fat Quarter swap group on Facebook - it is a closed group, they started with 6 and looks like they will have twice that many for next month.

So if you are in the UK and have been looking for a Fat Quarter swap group - give it a try!
