block from Shirley

I received this most beautiful block this week from Shirley for August in the Christmas Block Swap group

look at this red and golden goodness ;-)

Perfect !!  ;-)

Shirley also included a pattern, a Christmas FQ, and a card ................ but I forgot to take a photo ;-(
so I have done a very naughty thing and pinched borrowed the pic that Shirley provided for the Christmas Block Swap Blog

thank you so much Shirley, you are most generous.  I was looking at the pattern and was trying to imagine what fabrics I could use ;-)

Christmas Log Cabin received by Shirley

Have just heard from Shirley and she has received the log cabin block I made for the Christmas Quilt Block Swap for August

Thank you Shirley for letting me know the block has arrived safely and that you like it.

The Log Cabin block seems to have had a resurgence lately and is 'in' again - which is really good, as I have a tonne of strips pre-cut ;-)

sewing so much, I blew a gasket ;-)

I was having a ball with FNSI, so it continued a bit more on Sunday

I finished my block for GEMMA for Block Swap Adventure

Completed a block for Shirley for Christmas Quilt Block Swap

Gemma and Shirley, your blocks are now in the mail and should get to you in about 7-10 days.

I was getting fabrics ready for my last swap block for the month for Terry for QBSA and there was a flash and the power went out ............. yes, Houston, we have a problem............

I got hubby and we investigated.   The power was off to only half the house, so it was something in the spare rooms ..... process of elimination, we found that the globe in my sewing machine had blown, and taken out the fuse.   Lucky for me, hubby is an electrician, and was able to take the cover off my machine and remove the globe, which had well and truly disintegrated.

I attempted to sew the last block, but it was not good.  I didn't realise just how much light that little globe was putting out and just how dark my sewing room really is.

I will get out tomorrow to get a new globe and finish off my swap obligations ;-)
