The Young and the Restless celebrates 40 years this year ............ and I have been watching for as long as I can remember ........... since about 1974/5 here in Australia. Back then, we were so far behind the US - about 2 years I think.
One of the first storylines I can remember was Leslie Brooks, playing the piano, but then losing her memory, or being in an institution somewhere.
One of the best storylines I can remember was when Nicki Newman was pretending to be sick, then Victor found out LOL - I was working at the time and actually got my Mum to record the good bits for me - each weekend Mum and I would sit down and watch it together - I used to love it when Victor got angry!
Now I just can't wait for Karma to get Victor! With all his money and power, he has to learn that he can't push people around like that ............. and Sharon, don't get me started on her! Currently, here in Australia, Victor is missing (Billy & Genevieve have just found him) and Sharon is the head of Newman Enterprises ............. what a power trip this girl is on! At first, I quite liked the new powerful Sharon, but I think the writers have gone a bit overboard now!
mmmmmmmmmm, listen to me ................ you would think these people are real! Well, they are sort of real, they have been part of my life for so long ;-)
Here in Australia, Y&R is screened on Foxtel, our subscription TV, and in order to catch up to the US, they condensed two years worth of episodes into a week - Yes, you read correctly! I nearly stopped watching at that point, as it was a bit disjointed, but I perservered ;-)
I was watching Y&R yesterday and noticed a slight continuity issue .......... they happen occasionally, but this one was a doozy!
this was during a conversation of Phyllis Newman (
Michell Stafford) with Michael - roughly the 7 min mark in the episode
this was during the same conversation with Michael at the 8 min mark
you may not be able to see clearly in the photos, but her hair changes colour - earlier in the episode, it is the usual unmistakable golden red, then it changes to a really dark brown (which I quite like), then it reverts back to the golden red.
I would like to finish this post with huge Get Well Wishes for
Jeanne Cooper
who is thankfully
now out of ICU
Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.
