It's the unexpected things .....

I posted on my other blog about unexpected things .............

Just recently, I received an unexpected request to become the Swap Co-ordinator for the Christmas Quilting Block Swap Australia group.  I was extremely honoured and had no hesitation in saying 'yes'.

Crafty Pug has been the co-ordinator since the group's formation in October 2010 and has done an excellent job.  Crafty Pug recently posted on the Group Swap Blog saying she needed to step down   .....

'there are a few reasons for this, but the main ones are the ones tugging on my pant leg when i am typing :)'

Well, I had the pleasure of meeting those reasons when Crafty Pug and myself  met in real life recently to do the Blog Admin handover.  I must say, those reasons are adorable ;-)

I hope I can do a good job of being the new Swap Co-ordinator ......... I have some big shoes to fill ;-)

Official handover date will be 15th March - stay tuned ;-)

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.

Aussie Quilt Block Swaps - November blocks & other stuff

it was FNSI last night, but I didn't get to sew :-(
EDITED:  oops, got the wrong date ... next FNSI is 19th November

so I got up early and did a SMSI (saturday morning sew in)

I finally finished my November Christmas Block swap for Mary in Canada - here is just a snippet.

Mary, your block will be in the mail on Monday.

On Friday, the postman delivered this lovely block from Linda (my October partner)  Linda's first block never arrived, so Linda very graciously made me another one - thank you so much Linda, I love the richness of the colours you have chosen.

I would like to thank Crafty Pug too ;-)  for the lovely patch of material she sent to me as a thank you for participating in Alex's quilt.

I think that fabric is beautiful.  I am intending to make up a pin cushion with it so that every time I use it, I can think of our swap group.

Now to get to some more sewing ;-)
