February Finish ;-)

Another Finish for 2012

I finished the hot pad that was made with a friend in mind.

First attempt at free motion quilting ;-)

Binding complete

big enough to put two large casserole dishes on

This pad was made up with blocks received from my October 2010 partner for QBSA, Linda (who now runs Block Swap Adventure), the reason there are two blocks very similar is that Linda's first blocks went for a trip around the world and she very kindly send me a replacement block  - see my posts HERE  and HERE

I must confess, I am liking these blocks so much, I think I will keep it  for myself and make a different one for my friend ;-)

I am claiming this as a finish for Sew its Finished as I have had the blocks since 2010 ;-)

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you have a good day.

Around the world in 80 days - well, 75 days actually ;-)

My October swap partner for QBSA was Linda.  Unfortunately, Linda's first block never arrived, so Linda was very gracious and made me a new block - which I blogged about HERE.

Guess what turned up in the letterbox today?
yup, you guessed it .... Linda's first block

Beautiful material - love top right hand corner fabric ;-)

Another Christmas Log Cabin has arrived safely ;-)

Here is another beautiful log cabin block - this one from Linda.  I can't believe how quickly it got here - it was posted on 1st December.
I just love the gold highlights on the outer border ;-)

More block swaps completed ;-)

I was able to get some more sewing done this last few days - the cricket was on the TV, so I was left to my own devices ;-)   I think I'm gonna love this summer

I managed to complete:
  • the sewing swap for Craft Mad - Merry, your tags will be posted tomorrow.
  • the block for Cecelia - Block Swap partner for November
Cecelia, your block will be in the mail tomorrow.
  • the block for Linda - Christmas partner for December

Linda, your block will be in the mail tomorrow.

Linnea, your October block is almost completed and will be in the mail this week too.

Aussie Quilt Block Swaps - November blocks & other stuff

it was FNSI last night, but I didn't get to sew :-(
EDITED:  oops, got the wrong date ... next FNSI is 19th November

so I got up early and did a SMSI (saturday morning sew in)

I finally finished my November Christmas Block swap for Mary in Canada - here is just a snippet.

Mary, your block will be in the mail on Monday.

On Friday, the postman delivered this lovely block from Linda (my October partner)  Linda's first block never arrived, so Linda very graciously made me another one - thank you so much Linda, I love the richness of the colours you have chosen.

I would like to thank Crafty Pug too ;-)  for the lovely patch of material she sent to me as a thank you for participating in Alex's quilt.

I think that fabric is beautiful.  I am intending to make up a pin cushion with it so that every time I use it, I can think of our swap group.

Now to get to some more sewing ;-)

pics of blocks I have forgotten to blog

I forgot to post a pic of the block I made for Leona's sister, Tammy's Quilt

Here is a full pic of Linda's block for October - unfortunately, we are still waiting on the postman to deliver Linda's block to me ;-(
Linda requested http://quilterscache.com/B/BlazingArrowsBlock.html in greens (not olive), or blues in combination with white

October Block Swap

hubby has been sick this last three days ;-(

so I have been left to entertain myself in the sewing room ;-)

I have completed my block for the Aussie Quilt Block Swap Group

This one is for Linda, who requested a Blazing Arrows block in greens or blues with a combination of white.

So I don't spoil the surprise, here is just a snippet of the block.

Blogger is not playing well today - it took several attempts to upload this picture.
